Conf: Embodied Cognition Conference (Cambridge)

Embodied Cognition Conference

University of Cambridge, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages

 14. & 15.9.2015

The purpose of this international, two-day meeting will be to consider alignments between intellectual activity in the German-speaking world between 1750 and 1830, and the findings of modern cognitive science, which posit integration between the mental and the physical in processes of acquiring knowledge. Participants will speak on a range of topics, from literature (Goethe, Kleist, Klopstock) and philosophy (Herder, Schopenhauer) to music, and there will be opportunities for open discussion of the term ’embodied cognition’.
